3 Weeks Old

So yesterday you turned three weeks old! Part of me thinks the time has flown by since you were born, but then the other part of me thinks (and Dad too) that it feels like several months have gone by since you were born.

We really can't complain about your sleeping patterns.  You feed roughly around every 3 hours, and have even started waking us up with your "hungry" cries in the middle of the night before my alarm goes off, something that never happened before with you.  So, in between the nighttime feedings, we are getting about 6 hours of sleep.  I think we have just gotten used to a lack of sleep because the days are starting to get a little better and we feel less tired overall.  During the day, you are awake for a couple hours but mostly you are sleeping and being quiet.  Yesterday, we went to the hospital to weigh you so we can check on your progress from last week at the doctor's office.  We think we figured out why you sleep all the time because you grew 14 ounces in one week! That's right, you are now a whopping 7 pounds and 14 ounces!! Woohoo, way to grow Wesley!  Thinking back on your first week in the hospital and how you lost a bunch of weight, your Dad and I made sure that we did everything in our power to make sure you are growing.  Yesterday, after we saw that you had gained that much weight, it was like a giant weight had been lifted off our shoulders.  (well, not really, because we now have to carry around you being almost a pound heavier ;)).

I should have known you had gained a bunch last week because your clothes are getting a little tighter on you with each passing day.  We also joke that your cheeks and thighs are getting chubbier as well.  I think it is really cute I must say.  The picture below is one with a monogrammed shirt that grandma got you.  Its a good thing we got you with it on, because I don't think you will be able to wear it for much longer considering how fast you are growing.  Pretty soon you will be wearing the 0-3 month sizes, which is good because you have a lot more clothes to choose from in those sizes.

Yesterday, we decided to go out and about again.    We went to get some pho and then headed to a coffee shop.  The entire time you stayed in your carseat and only got fussy for a little bit when you were hungry.  So, I would definitely call our outing a success!
