Despite being just shy of two months old, you have traveled in the following states: Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri! Pretty impressive for a little peanut like yourself. On February 22, 2013, you made your first long car trip to Saint Louis, MO to visit your aunt (and god mom), Lauren. The car ride took about 7 hours, and you only made us stop once to feed and change you! I must say that you behaved very well during the ride there. One thing is that Dad and I are learning things about traveling with you like 1) It is important to choose places that have changing tables in them. (If not, then we have to change you in the car while the cold air is hitting your bottom) ;) 2) Mom should pump before we stop so that we have one less thing to do while stopping. They say that when you have a baby they start to rule the roost and that is definitely the case with you. Our car was packed full of your gear, and while I have a tendency to overpack (you look so cute in your clothes that I tend to pack all of them anytime we go anywhere (oops). But I wouldn't have it any other way. Despite how much our lives have drastically changed since having you; it has definitely changed for the better in every way.
While in Saint Louis we got to see Aunt Lauren's new pad. I must say it is pretty impressive. So impressive that we stayed there pretty much the entire time and relaxed on the couch watching tv. She had a very comfy setup in the living room (we were all able to fit on the couch), so we spent the vaca there. Which I must say was pretty great. I did venture out to go shopping for a few hours (thanks Jeff and Angie for watching you!), but then realized that I should have just stayed home since the stores were busy and didn't have alot on sale to buy for you! ;)
On the way home, it was just your grandma and myself driving while we were following grandpa in his car. The reason dad wasn't with us is because he had to travel to Chicago for work for the week. On the way back to Kentucky we had to stop twice. Once in the worst gas station ever (at least for mom who had to go the bathroom in quite possibly the worst smelling bathroom ever! yuck!), and then in Louisville at a rest area when you decided that had to eat again before we got home. At least we got to use the travel bottle warmer during the trip. (http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Travel-Bottle-Warmer-Gray/dp/B006SFUD2G) I must say the bottle warmer works well but takes some planning since it takes about 15-20 minutes to heat up a bottle. So, since your little belly gets angry when hungry 15-20 minutes is waaay too long. Good thing grandma was there to console you while I tried to heat up a bottle as fast as humanly possible. After about a seven hour trip, we made it back to Kentucky before 8 to watch the Oscars, which I must say were kinda boring.
