Four Months

I feel like a broken record, but yet another month has passed and I still can't believe how fast you are growing up!  While it makes me happy to see you hit all these milestones, it is also bittersweet that you are changing so much everyday!  You are now officially 1/3 of a year old, and  have done some amazing things this past month.

You were baptized
You continue to eat your hands and drool like a champ
You love your kick and play piano and you bright stars play mat with the light-up cat
You are in 3-6 month clothing and up and continue growing
You are (as of April 21) in size 2 diapers and I don't think you will be in them for long
It looks like you have a tooth (as of April 14) that wants to come in so you like to bite your pacifier and bottle on that side
You have officially been in daycare for a month
Speaking of daycare, your teachers loove you.  I think you must be a major flirt or something!
You sleep in your crib now for most of the night
You met the Easter bunny
You actually like tummy time for about ten to fifteen minutes now until you start crying
You are always laughing and smiling at everyone you meet
You held your bottle while I was feeding you last week for about 30 seconds before it fell
You painted your first painting at daycare with your hands and feet
You love to stand up (assisted by mommy of course)
and probably so many other things I am forgetting :)

You don't have your 4 month well check up appointment until May 10, but since you had a nasty chest cough today I went ahead and took you to the doctor this morning to get you checked out so I have your official 4 months stats today:

Weight: 14 pounds 8 ounces
Height: 24.5 inches
Head: 16.75

Overall Health:
Other than the cold and stuffy nose that you have had for a little over two weeks, and the cough, you are in general good health.  You are gaining weight (and height and especially head size) right on track with what you should be at this age.

Clothes:
Thanks for giving me more and more reasons to shop!  You grow out of our clothes like it is your job! Currently, you are wearing 3-6 month to 6 month clothing.  You have so many cute outfits I have a hard time finding the time to dress you in them.  Therefore, you are probably wondering why I randomly dress you up on the weekends instead of just letting you sleep in your pjs all day.  Since it is getting warmer here in Ohio (it is 80 degrees today), I will be putting you more in summer clothes.  Your shorts are the cutest I must say!

Sleep:
This month was the month that we transitioned you to sleeping in your crib.  I must say, you performed like a champ.  I think it was harder on mom and dad than it was on you switching to your crib :).  While you still have your nights you like to scream every 2-3 hours, the past two nights you have gone to bed around 8pm and only get up once around midnight to 1 am to eat before you are back to bed until 5or 6am when it is time to get up and ready for the day.  Ironically enough, we didn't have to really sleep train you because you are just naturally able to fall asleep in your crib like you did in the pak n' play for the first three months.  We also no longer have to swaddle you for you to go to sleep.  You still move your arms like crazy before you fall asleep, but after that you are good to go!

Diet:
Still eating breast milk only. You eat about 5 ounces six or seven times a day.  You were still very stubborn this month consistently eating while at daycare, but as soon as you get home you pig out! Lol.  You really need to learn to eat more at daycare but other than that I can't complain.

Milestones:
You have definitely found your hands this month.  You constantly have your hands in your mouth and drool like craaazy.  I think your teeth are starting to come in but one hasn't cut just yet.  I'm sure it is coming soon though.  You have rolled over from tummy to back a few more times but still not doing it with any consistency. Dad is convinced you know how to roll over but just don't want to.  Haha.  While I think you are smart, I don't think you are quite that smart just yet. You "talk" soo much.  Usually every morning, Dad and you sit in bed and talk back and forth to each other.  You also laugh pretty much everyday and are a very happy baby.  Unfortunately, today you also had your first dose of antibiotics, yet another milestone we didn't want to happen so soon.   We also started baby sign language with you this month. You still have no clue what we are going but we have started with the words milk, mom, dad, and more!

And now, without further ado, here are some pictures of you from the past month.

World's cutest Reds fan! This was you on Opening Day, 2013!

You get to do many "paintings" at daycare with your hands and feet.  This was one of your fabulous creations that you made when you learned about the ocean.

I love you in your Wesley onesie! I'm glad I decided to try it on you before you outgrew it!

It isn't a day unless you eat your hands!

This month you starting checking out Jerry the Giraffe during your monthly photo session.  You also bit his ear as well.

What's up mom.  Can we please stop with the pictures?

Like your booster seat (and not wanting to look at mom for a picture)

There is the camera! :)

You were not happy when I tried to put the sticker on your head. I had a good laugh though.

The obligatory side shots on the changing table during your photoshoot.

The four month photoshoot made you verrry sleepy.  I did this right after you woke up on Saturday so I'm sure I was interfering with your morning nap.

I had to get you the kick and play piano once I saw it, and you absolutely love kicking at the piano and swatting the toys.

I told Dad that we need to start taking AT LEAST one picture of us together with you so that you have pictures together with us when you get older.  Too bad it took us four months to do this but at least we started the tradition.
