First Day in the Big World

So this morning was a milestone in our life. We woke up a little after 6am, I put you in bed with Dad and heated up your bottle.  You were a little stuffy nosed so I sucked some snot out of you (by the way, the NoseFrida is so awesome), and then Dad fed you while I took a shower.  After feeding, I went into change you and get you ready for you first day.. AT DAYCARE.  I have to admit that I cried, ALOT.  For the past twelve weeks I have spent pretty much every day with you and the thought of taking you somewhere else for the day made me really sad. As we dropped you off and got settled, you were as happy as can be as Dad took you out of the carseat and held you.  Then, we chatted with your teacher Jeanette, and I held you for a few minutes longer before saying goodbye.  I didn't lose it until we left, and I'm going to call around noon to check on you.  I have been trying to prepare for this day for several weeks now, but you can't prepare for it  I realized.  You just have to now start cherishing the nights and weekends we get to spend with you.

By the way, you are on the purple team at daycare, and we have to fill out a form every day so they can keep track of your feedings, diapers, sleep, etc.  The good news is that on the form there was a question: what is the mood of your baby today. Luckily enough, I put happy today.  I hope you stay that way today for them, but if you don't, I'll still be there at 5 to pick you up and give you lots of kisses.  I'll report on how your first day went sometime tomorrow.

P.S. In keeping with the winterbaby theme, it snowed around 4 inches today on your first day!! Where is spring?!?!?!

UPDATE: I called at 11:40am to check on you, and they told me you had been sleeping since 9am! It cracks Dad and I up because I don't think you have ever sleeped that long in between feedings during the day when we are around.  Guess I need to tell daycare to wake you up every 4 hours if you are still sleeping to eat.
