3 Months!

Three months!! A fourth of a year! I still can't believe it has been that long yet at the same time I feel like you have been with us much longer. (I guess that is what being sleep deprived does to your perception of time :))

This month was another eventful one in your life.  You traveled some more, started at daycare (which means mom is back to work), had your first cold (boo), and many other things I will describe throughout this post.

One thing you still continue to do is AMAZE us.

Your smile and almost giggle is priceless. We seriously could sit you on my lap all day and watch you smile.

You have started babbling more as well when we talk to you, which is hilarious.  Dad swears you are telling him "Hi" when he says it to you, but I don't think you are forming words just yet... Even so, you are very "talkative" already and even this past weekend you sat in your swing for a good thirty minutes making noises and chilling with yourself.

You have FINALLY been sleeping longer stretches at night.  Woohoo! I think the longest so far was 10:30pm to 5am, but you still have your nights when you like to wake up every 3 hours for old times sake.  You also still like to be swaddled to sleep, and there are some nights when I catch you breaking your arm out of the swaddle like so.  (so funny, it looks like you declared victory before falling back asleep)

You still love to sit in your swing and will take naps there frequently.

You also have been eating your hands alot and slobbering like crazy.
You didn't have a three month checkup (your next appt is not until May 11) so I am guess-tamating on your statistics below:

Weight: 13 pounds 5 ounces
Height: 24 inches
Head:  16 (it's soo big, LOL)

Overall Health:
You still are a very healthy baby boy!  You did have your first cold this month that started on March 22 and is still leaving you congested in your nose.  You will never believe this but Dad and I use the Nose-Frida (aka snot-sucker  to get the snot out of your nose.  You love when we do it, after crying for a bit afterwards.  Other than that, you are growing! Your thighs have two little fat rolls and your biceps are chubby as well.  I will say that your neck is really strong and you already like to practice standing up on mom's knees.  Also, your double chins have started shrinking a little as well. ( I think your thighs took that fat).   One weird thing is that you still have your "birth bruises" on your leg, butt, and hip.  The doc said they are birth marks, so who knows when they will go away, if ever.

Clothes:
You are still holding tight in your 3 months clothing and are also wearing 3-6 months as well.  For pajamas I had to start buying 6 months because you are too long to fit in 3 months.  You still have a full closet, and are getting dressed up for daycare everyday now!

Sleep:
You are definitely sleeping more at night.  Five to six hour stretches at night are the norm.  You are sleeping in the pack n play at night - this month is when we will make the transition to the crib full time.  I hope I am ready for it - because I think I will have a harder time with it than you!

Diet:
Still on mom's milk only.  You eat around 4 to 5 ounces six times a day normally.  However, one issue we have had is that last week when we started daycare you are only eating about 2-4 ounces a day while there! Boo.  They mentioned that it may take you awhile before you are used to the new setting and will eat normally, but as soon as you get home you eat like a pig. So you are definitely making up for it once you get home.Other than the daycare issue, eating is good!

Milestones:
On Saturday, March 30, you rolled over!! Grandma Lucas and I were watching you play on your play mat and I decided to do tummy time with you.  To my surprise, you rolled over from your belly to your back.  You seem startled after you did it, and started crying after because I think you scared yourself.  Unfortunately, Dad and Grandpa didn't see it, but I know pretty soon you will be rolling over like crazy and we will wish you were a non-mobile newborn again.
You also recognize our voices and follow us around the room with your eyes.  Your legs are strong, and you like to grab a hold of our fingers when you are taking a nap with us. You are so alert now, and are making new sounds and cries every day.  We can tell when you are hungry just by your cry!
