3 years

You are officially 3 years old.  I looked at the last timestamp of this blog and the last time I made an entry was in July of 2014.  One of my resolutions this year is to keep up with updates, pictures, etc. so this is me at least starting out on a good fit.  I love looking back and reading these and I'm sure one day you might as well.

Alot has changed since I last wrote.  You gave up your paci (1yr 9 months), are talking up a storm (ever since 18 months), became a big brother (November 6, 2015), are potty trained (September 2015),  sleep in your own big boy bed, can put on your shoes and socks, can take off your clothes and put them on.  I could go on and on at the list of updates but one important thing is that you have grown up into such a sweet and handsome little boy.  I can't believe how fast these first three years have gone!

11 Months

I can't believe in one month we will be celebrating your first birthday!

This month was definitely the month of the teeth!  At the start of the month you had two teeth and at the end you had 6 total!  It seemed like overnight that you got 4 upper teeth and you are never happy when we try to look at them.  You have also been constantly on the move.   You have gotten much better at balancing yourself as you are cruising around everywhere.  You have also stood by yourself for seconds at a time and I think in your mind you are wanting to walk.. It is only a matter of time before we will be chasing you everywhere.

In family news, we sold and closed on our house in Columbus on November 8.  We all drove up to Columbus one last time to pack up our final belongings and say goodbye to the place.  Of course, I started crying as we left because of all the memories we had in that house.  I know you will never remember your first home but I definitely will because  it was the house that we brought you home for the first time as a family of three.

In terms of home, we are still living with Grandma and Grandpa Lucas until we close on our house on December 31.  If that date sounds familiar it because it is your first birthday!! What a great birthday present you will have, a new house for all of us.

In other news, you were Student of the Month at daycare, so I sent in several pictures of your first 10 months of life and your information was hung on the door for everyone to read about the entire month.  Speaking of daycare, you are really settling in there and are loving the new environment.  I am so happy we found a place that you like!!

Overall Health
November started out as a healthy and happy month for you, but towards the end of the month, on November 18 to be exact, you woke up with your eyes COMPLETELY COVERED in goop.  It was almost as if your eyes had massive boogers in them.  You were not happy, and I didn't like it either because it seemed like  you were in pain.  So, Dad took you by himself to the new pediatrician in Cincinnati.  She gave you some antibiotics and your eyes cleared up within a day.   You still have a cough that has stuck around though, but we have all been sick over the past couple weeks so that is probably why it is staying around.  One funny thing to note is that you have a rather large head ( in the 90th percentile)  When the doctor saw you for the first time she said, "Wow, he has a really big head.  We will need to monitor that".  Why I think your large head was inherited through me, there is nothing wrong with it.  It just makes it tough to put on shirts sometimes. :)

Clothes
It has definitely been feeling A LOT colder here this past month.  We had our first significant snowfall of the year, which means you have been wearing your sweaters/sweatpants/long sleeved onesies mostly.  You are finally fitting nicely in your 12 month clothes (and some 18 month onesies here and there), and your nine month pants are starting to look like capris on you!

Diet
You still looove food and cannot get enough of it.  This month you started eating the lunch at daycare and they also echo the thought that you love your food and are a good eater.  You even ate peanut butter (through a peanut butter cracker) and there were no issues with that.  With your growing amount of teeth you are starting to chew things more (including cheerios).  In the liquid department, this month we started you on some formula and some breastmilk.  You are slowly starting to not want your bottles anymore and since you mastered the straw sippy cup I want to try and get you to wean off of it relatively soon after turning one.

Milestones
This month you continued to "talk" a lot with your various sounds.  You also love to mimic others when making their sounds.  You also started giving kisses to us on November 12 and it is the cutest (and sloppiest) thing ever.  You open your mouth wide and give us a big slobbery smooch.  Another thing you do (which is also cute),  is whenever I say, "aww, baby" you lay your head down on my shoulder like you are going to go to sleep but don't .
In the motor skills department, you are standing on your own and wanting to take a step but haven't done one yet.  I'm not sure if you will be walking by your first birthday but I'm not really worried since you have mastered the art of getting around the house by crawling and cruising across furniture.  And, you are still a dancing fool that dances to pretty much everything that plays music.

Statistics
You went to the doctor's this month because of your cough and you weighed 21.5 lbs.  She did say that you have a very large head just by looking at you, so that was funny.  They didn't take your height measurement so I guess we will wait on that until your one year appointment.

10 Months

You are officially in DOUBLE DIGIT months and I cannot believe that my little baby is getting sooo big.  Every day you seem to be learning or exploring something new and I love watching how you take in everything and for the most part always stay soo happy.  This was our first full month living with grandma and grandpa since our move and so far you are adjusting well to your new crib and surroundings.  Since grandma and grandpa's house have so many toys, you are fitting right in at their house.  I think they enjoy having you as well :).

In other news, in your nine month post I mentioned that you started a new daycare when we moved down here.   Well, since you weren't doing so well there and cried most of the day, the lady watching you decided to kick you out!! While mommy was sad that day, I think it was really good for you because you got to spend the next two weeks with you Aunt Patty at her house and then started at Abby's daycare on October 14th.  As I write this post, you have been at daycare for a little over two weeks and are doing very well there.  You love Miss Ashley, your teacher, and have a great time playing with the toys and gym mat there.  They even have a slide that you apparently used for the first time the other day.  I'm soo happy that you like your new daycare and we found a place where you can play with other babies close to your age!

Overall Health
The month of October was a healthy one for you.  No new sicknesses or trips to the doctor were needed.  You do seem to be slimming down (a bit) because of all the non.stop. moving around that you do around around grandma and grandpa's house.  In the health department, we had to find a new doctor for you in Cincinnati since we moved from Columbus, so your next scheduled visit there is in January after you turn 1!!

Clothes
While the first part of the month was still a little hot, towards the middle and end it is finally feeling like fall!  Which means that you started wearing more long sleeved onesies, coats, and pants and had to put away the shorts and short sleeved onesies that you were living in all summer.   In terms of clothes sizes, you still fit in your 9 month pants, but since Mom didn't buy many 9 month pants you have been "swimming" in some of your 12 month clothes.  It is not too bad, but the pants are a little long on you so when you try to pull yourself up on things you sometimes get tripped up because your pants are too long!  You also have a pretty tiny waist, so the 9 month pants fit you perfectly!   In terms of pajamas, the 12 month footie pajamas or footless pajamas are our go-to now.  All in all, you have A LOT of cute sweaters  and vests that I can't wait to put you in as the weather gets colder, all ranging in sizes from 6-12 months to 12-18 months.  So, I'm sure over the next few months we will get plenty of wear out of them!

Sleep
What can I say, I think we have created a monster… This month, you have still been waking up once in the middle of the night (usually).  Probably about 3/4 of the time when you wake up we feed you because you won't stop crying.   The funny thing is, this month was the first time that mommy left you overnight when Dad and I went to a Halloween party.  I didn't believe it, but you slept from 9:30pm to 8:30am the next morning!!  Grandma and Grandpa say that it is because of your parents that you don't sleep, but I just think they didn't hear you cry! Anyway, it was a funny story because grandpa gave you a little ducky and said that is what made you sleep all night.  So, now, since I am trying everything, I have been trying to give you the ducky at night hoping for the best.  Starting next month, my goal is to not feed you at night so hopefully that will enable you to start sleeping longer stretches!  I'm aiming for you to sleep consistently through the night before you turn 1 and the clock is ticking!

Diet
You looove food and cannot get enough of it.  I should clarify that you cannot stand oatmeal+fruit anything and you stick your tongue out and refuse to swallow once it is in your mouth.  Besides that, you have tried just about everything except peanuts and peanut butter.    We have started giving you more and more "regular" foods at dinner and you seem to love everything we give you.  You make this hilarious noise (yumm yumm yumm) whenver you are eating (you got this from your dad), and there are sometimes when I think that you would keep eating and eating if we let you.  Some of your highlights this month was trying LaRosa's pizza for the first time, and getting a little too much of Uncle Rick's 50th birthday cake while mom wasn't around.. Can you say sugar high?!?!   In the liquid department, I am still pumping and you are still eating breast milk.  You don’t seem to want as much as you used to in the milk department but still enjoy it at night and in the morning especially.
On milestone that happened at the end of the month is that you were able to suck water from your sippy cup for the first time!  (Grandma gets credit for teaching you how to do that. )

Milestones
You still love to babble and have continued doing it this month.  I'm not for sure, but you can say mama and dada now, in addition to making other sounds.  You do what we call the "indian" call a lot where you bring your hand to your mouth and go "ba ba ba ba".   In the motor skills department, you are wanting to stand on your own so bad but haven't quite mastered it yet.  You do, however, stand up on furniture, toys, whatever and will cruise around to get where you need to go.  You have also gotten A LOT better with your balance and are not falling down and hitting your head on things anymore, so that is good. :)   You love your sit to stand walker and will walk behind that across the living room.  You are soo proud of yourself when doing it and get the biggest smile on your face!
One of the cutest things you have done this month is DANCE.  So, when we start singing and do a dance song, you start dancing along and smiling.  I have included a video here because it is one of the cutest things I have seen..

Statistics
You don't have a doctor's appointment again until one year, so not sure on these statistics right now.  I would guess somewhere between 22 and 23 pounds!

Here you are celebrating your first Halloween!
